Mission

The mission of the Bureau of Risk and Insurance Management is to protect and maintain the financial integrity of the Commonwealth�s assets by effectively applying the risk treatment techniques of:

� Assumption (non-insurance or self-insurance funding)
� Control (active accident and loss prevention activities)
� Elimination (remove the cause of loss)
� Transfer (purchase of blanket insurance and excess loss insurance for catastrophic exposure).

Business Overview

The Bureau of Risk and Insurance Management (BRIM) is one of five administrative support organizations within the Department of General Services comprising the Property Management Deputate.

BRIM consists of two (2) divisions with a complement of twenty-five personnel in five (5) locations across the Commonwealth: Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Allentown and Scranton.
