The Capitol Police was established in 1895, and is second oldest state police organization in the United States.  Only the Texas Rangers is older.  The Bureau of Police and Safety, often simply called the Capitol Police, maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors to the Capitol Complex.  Officers also provide a variety of personal safety training courses to employees.
